The Regional Director serves as TRA’s senior leader in the Austin Market, responsible for expanding membership, driving non‑dues revenue, strengthening community and industry partnerships, and leading local advocacy efforts. This role oversees chapter operations, guides the Member Engagement team, and represents TRA within the region to grow the Association’s influence and long‑term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Growth & Engagement
• Lead the regional team to meet/exceed membership growth, retention, and product/service sales goals
• Drive new member acquisition and serve as a key relationship manager for TRA members
• Plan and execute profitable local events, meetings, and sponsorship opportunities
• Develop member communications and strengthen partnerships with allied organizations
• Oversee chapter board operations, finances, governance, and monthly reporting
• Set annual goals and execute revenue plans for the Austin market
• Grow non‑dues revenue through events, sponsor ships, and partnerships
• Support Texas Pro Start programs, scholarship reporting, and Foundation initiatives
• Lead the Austin market’s local policy agenda in coordination with TRA’s advocacy team
• Build strong relationships with local leaders, elected officials, and regulatory agencies
• Identify and activate grassroots advocates within the membership
• Support PAC and TRAction fundraisers and participate in state/national advocacy events
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Government Affairs, Business, or related field
• 5+ years experience in association management, business development, or government affairs (or 10–12 years association experience)
• Strong communication, relationship‑building, and leadership skills
• Experience managing events, partnerships, and community or government stakeholders
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office;
Quick Books experience preferred
• Ability to travel locally and nationally up to 15–20% and work events outside standard business hours
