PurposeThe Program Manager leads the planning, execution, and oversight of strategic, cross-functional programs that support the healthcare system's mission and operational goals. This role is responsible for managing multiple related projects, ensuring they align with organizational priorities and deliver measurable outcomes. The Program Manager reports to a Director or Senior Director and works closely with project managers, clinical and administrative leaders, finance, IT, and external partners.
The Program Manager ensures that programs are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and in compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
- Develops and maintains comprehensive program plans aligned with strategic goals.
- Defines program scope, deliverables, milestones, and success metrics.
- Coordinates cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution.
- Tracks progress and adjusts plans as needed.
- Ensures alignment with organizational priorities and leadership expectations.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develops and implements communication strategies tailored to specific audiences.
- Facilitates regular status meetings and provides timely, transparent updates.
- Prepares and delivers reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate program status, risks, and outcomes.
- Ensures alignment and transparency across a program participants.
- Develops and manages program budgets in collaboration with finance.
- Monitors expenditures and ensures cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinates resource allocation across projects and departments.
- Identifies funding needs and opportunities.
- Prepares financial reports and justifications for leadership.
- Identifies and mitigates program risks and issues.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory and organizational policies.
- Maintains documentation and audit readiness.
- Conducts program evaluations and implements improvements.
- Develops contingency plans for critical risks.
- Aligns programs with long-term strategic initiatives.
- Identifies opportunities for innovation and process improvement.
