Hiller Measurements Assembly Technicians are responsible for assembling, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, reworking and the modification of developmental and production components, parts, equipment, and systems such as wiring, cables, harnesses, PCBs, CCAs, RFIUs, rack enclosures, chassis, panels, electro-mechanical assemblies and other hardware for prototype, build-to-print and custom test systems under the direction of the production manager, production flow control and/or engineering.

Hiller Measurements Assembly Technicians possess a dynamic skillset, with an extreme attention to detail, and utilize a large range of tools/soldering equipment such as bench drills, machine tools, crimpers, and soldering irons. The technician will work to an engineering drawing alongside a Bill of Materials (BOM), Interconnect Circuit Design (ICD) and wire list.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Build electronic and mechanical assemblies from engineering design blueprints.
  • Test electronic components.
  • Assemble components and examine connections for correct fit; fastens parts and subassemblies.
  • Electronic assembly per IPC/WHMA-A-620 class 3 standards. (IPC training on-site).
REQUIRED

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and change focus quickly.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in speaking, reading and writing English.
PREFERRED SKILLS (however, on-site training provided)
  • Prototype skills in working from schematics.
  • Familiar with all cabling techniques per WHMA-A-620.
  • Hand soldering both lead and lead-free assemblies to IPC class 3 standards.
Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • IPC J-STD-001, WHMA-A-620 and/or 610 CIS or CIT (Class 3 Workmanship) (preferred, not required)
  • Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident (due to company contracts falling under the ITAR).
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a workbench.
  • Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
  • Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to wear gloves and eye/ear protection when required.
  • Must be able to traverse the production facility.
