The candidate is responsible for the assembly of complex cable and wire harness assemblies. The candidate must demonstrate quality workmanship and produce high‑quality assemblies that exceed our customer’s expectations, in accordance with industry standards.
Job Duties- Read and follow wire harness assembly instructions/blueprints.
- Cut and strip wire to specifications.
- Crimp terminals to wire ends.
- Install and shrink insulation sleeving.
- Install cable ties.
- Route, wire, and assemble electronic components using wire layout fixtures.
- Operate equipment such as crimp presses, wire twisters and wire strippers.
- Conduct functional and continuity tests of wire harnesses and cable assemblies using test fixtures.
- Solder wires to switches or connectors with a solder iron.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in‑process assemblies and finished products.
- Work with minimal supervision from the Production Department Supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Wire/cable harness assembly experience is a must.
- Familiar with IPC J‑STD‑001 and IPC/WHMA‑A‑620.
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing/assembly line.
- Ability to read and comprehend process documentation including Bills of Materials and Assembly drawings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Highly organized with the ability to keep count of parts.
- Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- High school diploma.
- Associate degree (preferred).
