Position Summary
As an Implant Equipment Technician you will be part of a team that focuses on maintaining the basic condition of state‑of‑the‑art semiconductor production equipment while driving improvements related to quality, efficiency, defect reduction, and cost of ownership. We prioritize safety, learning, and having fun while maintaining world‑class operations 24/7.
Role And Responsibilities
- Practice 6S in the office and fab. Hold safety as the number one priority, and look for opportunities to reduce safety risks in all procedures and daily operations.
- Assist all team members with daily workload and sustaining activities in the fab when necessary.
- Follow SOPs, PTPs, and Out of Control Action Plans (OCAPs) to work efficiently, safely, and cost‑effectively.
- Perform electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Perform mechanical assembly and disassembly.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and breakdown maintenance (BM) on Implanter and Anneal tool sets.
- Learn how the tools operate and understand breakdown maintenance recovery procedures.
- Utilize new and existing systems that help in day‑to‑day job roles (SiMax, Workplace, Inform, EDM, EMS, etc.).
- Learn to use tool GUIs to recover tool issues and extract data/information.
- Cross‑train on ion‑implantation equipment, rapid thermal processing equipment, and Implant Department process team.
- Maintain world‑class operations while working in a 24/7 high‑volume manufacturing environment.
Skills And Qualifications
- High School diploma required; technical degree or military technical experience preferred.
- 2+ years of industrial manufacturing or similar experience required.
- Prior semiconductor experience with knowledge of 300mm AMAT VIISta, Axcelis Paradigm, Nissin Exceed, AMAT Centura, AMAT Vantage, Mattson Millios, and Veeco LSA platforms preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Strong analytical skills to find impactful solutions to complex problems.
- Understanding of Lean principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
On‑site Requirement
All positions at Samsung Austin Semiconductor require you to be onsite. We are not currently accepting applications for candidates who will need visa sponsorship.
Compensation
The current base salary range for this role is between $18.60/hour and $60.40/hour. Total compensation will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs.
Night Shifts
- B Shift – Sunday through Tuesday (6:45 pm – 7:15 am) with alternating Saturdays.
- D Shift – Wednesday through Friday (6:45 pm – 7:15 am) with alternating Saturdays.
