Manufacturing Engineer, Automation Engineering
Creative 3D Technologies (C3DT) is rewriting how and where physical products are made. We’ve developed an award-winning Single-Cell 3D Printing system that consolidates large portion factories into a single modular machine capable of executing high-precision, multi-material manufacturing with the swap of a module.
As demand for our hardware grows, we’re scaling our internal manufacturing capabilities. We’re looking for a Production Systems Manager to lead that charge; someone with deep experience in production system design, optimization, and operation. If you’re obsessed with efficiency, automation, and building lean, scalable production lines, this role is built for you.
The Role:Architect the Line. Optimize the Output
You’ll co‑lead the production team with a focused mandate: own and optimize the production systems themselves. That means auditing and upgrading assembly stations, building out MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), and designing workflows that maximize throughput and quality.
From tooling to process software to physical layout, your job is to create high‑output, data‑driven production systems that scale, starting from station‑level improvements all the way up to full‑line design and buildout.
Key Responsibilities- Co-lead daily production operations, with a focus on systems, flow, and automation
. - Audit, optimize, and upgrade individual production stations for speed, repeatability, and operator efficiency.
- Build and implement MES tracking systems for part flow, work orders, yield rates, and operator performance.
- Identify and procure new tools, hardware, or software to increase output and reduce friction.
- Design and build new production line infrastructure as we scale from layout planning to hardware setup to process definition.
- Own data collection and continuous improvement efforts across the line; drive Kaizen and Six Sigma‑like practices.
- Collaborate with R&D, mechanical, and logistics teams to transfer new product designs into scalable production plans.
- Lead process documentation, training guides, and SOPs to standardize and institutionalize best practices.
- Help lead our expansion from low‑volume batch production to high‑volume, semi‑autonomous production.
Required Experience:
- 4+ years of experience managing or operating high‑mix production lines, ideally for complex hardware (e.g., machinery, robotics, CNCs, additive manufacturing systems).
- 2+ years of experience designing and building new production lines or assembly stations from the ground up.
- Deep knowledge of MES platforms and production‑line digital systems (custom or off‑the‑shelf); ability to implement and operate MES tooling across stations.
- Proven track record in production efficiency improvements, including lean principles, layout design, cycle time reduction, or autonomous station upgrades.
- Familiarity with process engineering, flow optimization, and physical line tuning, not just managing operators, but owning the system
. - Strong technical literacy with tooling, jigs, sensors, barcoding systems, and software‑driven manufacturing systems.
- U.S. Person status required (as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15) for compliance purposes.
- Full‑time, on‑site availability in Austin, TX.
- Experience working in early‑stage hardware startups or new product launches.
- Background in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering.
- Experience integrating PLCs, IoT devices, or semi‑autonomous tooling into production.
- Familiarity with high‑mix low‑volume environments where agility is key.
- Experience scaling from pilot lines to full‑capacity production facilities.
We’re not just producing products, we’re producing the machines that produce the future. You’ll be joining at the inflection point: our tech works, our demand is growing, and our production engine needs to scale. If you’re driven to build lean systems that work without excuses — and want to architect the line, not just manage it — this is your role.
Benefits- Equity options based on KPI achievement
- Annual bonuses and salary increases
- PTO, paid holidays, and HMO healthcare
Location: Austin, TX (On‑Site)
