We are looking for an experienced Equipment Technician to join our Plastics team in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting large tonnage injection molding systems, plastics drying systems, molds, hydraulics, pneumatics, electromechanical systems, PLCs, robotics, and temperature control units.
What You'll Do
* Maintain and troubleshoot large tonnage injection molding systems (1000+ tons), molds, and plastics drying systems using hydraulics, pneumatics, and electromechanical skills
* Program and optimize automated systems, including PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley) and Fanuc/Kuka robotics
* Utilize data-driven troubleshooting to identify root causes and implement quality repair solutions
* Read electrical and hydraulic schematics to support temperature control units and processing equipment
* Train entry-level to advanced technicians, sharing technical expertise across all levels
* Document processes and repairs using Microsoft Office tools with strong presentation skills
* Collaborate across teams to enhance production efficiency and system reliability
What You'll Bring
* 5-10 years of troubleshooting experience with a strong focus on training others
* Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electromechanical systems, and PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley)
* Proficiency in robotics (Fanuc/Kuka) and temperature control units
* Ability to read and interpret electrical/hydraulic prints and apply data-driven solutions
* Proven experience in logical troubleshooting and quality maintenance repairs
* Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
Essential Physical Demands
* Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
* Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
* Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
* Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
* Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day
* Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
* Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
* Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, clean coveralls in cleanroom, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
