Manufacturing Engineer, Assembly, Electronics Assembler, Electronics Technician
PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electrical Assembler in Austin, TX for a 6-month contract-to-hire role working 2nd shift on a 4/10 schedule. This is a full-time, on-site position supporting a major aerospace & defense company in a cleanroom production environment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, quality-driven, and brings strong hand-soldering and rework capability, with the ability to follow detailed work instructions and build to drawings.

Completion of at least two years of High School or Trade School education
Hands-on hand soldering experience (required)
Experience performing rework on electronic assemblies
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, drawings, and process/work instructions
Strong attention to detail and production quality mindset
Ability to work 2nd shift on a 4/10 schedule and perform all work on-site
Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability to become solder certified as required
Hand coating experience
IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD certifications (J-STD modules 1, 3, and 6 highly desired)
Experience using fixturing to build assemblies accurately
Experience inspecting materials/parts for defects prior to use
Experience soldering/epoxying electrical components
Familiarity with solder reflow ovens, semi-automatic pick-and-place machines, and automated measurement systems
Experience using MRP systems and data collection tools in a production environment
Assemble parts and subassemblies for electromechanical equipment in a cleanroom environment
Perform hand soldering, rework, and hand coating tasks to workmanship and quality requirements
Build, disassemble, and modify production subassemblies by following work plans and documented processes
Inspect completed work to ensure conformance to drawings, specifications, and process plans
Use fixtures, tools, and production equipment to support accurate assembly and consistent output
Identify and report defects or discrepancies in parts, materials, or documentation
Support production goals by maintaining a steady pace while meeting strict quality standards
Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to resolve build issues
