Trans Lash has grown into a bold, wide-ranging producer of media that centers the lives and stories of transgender and gender nonconforming (TGNC) people, adding critical nuance and depth to the issues that shape national headlines. We’ve created award-winning podcasts, critically acclaimed films, community-sourced zines, and a growing library of personal essays and journalism by TGNC contributors. We document, create, and influence trans culture for TGNC people and those who love them.

Trans Lash Media is seeking a reliable and collaborative Social Media Coordinator to support the Digital & Social team across a range of content and social engagement needs for our social channels and beyond. The Social Media Coordinator reports to the Social Media Manager.

The Social Media Coordinator ideates and produces promotional assets for Trans Lash’s social channels and brings fresh ideas for engaging Trans Lash’s audiences on Instagram, Tik Tok, You Tube, Bluesky, and other platforms. This role champions digital storytelling best practices and shares our commitment to keeping trans communities informed through digital media and journalism.

Working closely with the Social Media Manager, the Community Manager, and teams across Trans Lash’s Podcast, Films, and Articles verticals, the Social Media Coordinator supports social promotion and outreach strategies and serves as an ambassador for the organization with partners and audiences.

This role is fully remote and requires availability during core local business hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), plus occasional evenings and weekends as needed, often in response to breaking news.

• Source, schedule, and publish timely and evergreen content for Trans Lash’s social channels, using diverse sources that align with the Trans Lash brand
• Write social media copy and create graphics that follow accessibility best practices, under the direction of the Social Media Manager
• Maintain relationships with key partners through collaborative posts, replies, and direct messages, serving as an ambassador for the organization
• Work with the Community Manager to maintain a list of partner accounts to contact for amplification when appropriate
• Monitor social media platforms for comments, replies, and direct messages, and provide timely, brand-aligned responses in accordance with Trans Lash’s style and best practices guides
• Communicate proactively across teams to support social promotion and outreach strategies for all Trans Lash verticals (Podcast, Films, and Articles)
• Attend regular planning meetings with the Social Media Manager and the Digital & Social team to brainstorm and pitch creative concepts for social content
• Travel occasionally to cover live events.
