SAFE Alliance seeks a Family and Community Shelter Services Senior Director for the Residential & Support Services program in the Family & Community Shelter Department. Trains, supervises and evaluates shelter leadership team members including Directors and Residential Counselors. Represents SAFE on community task forces and collaborations, builds networks and maintains SAFE leadership by driving vision and purpose, all the while maintaining a survivor-focused agenda.

The SAFE Alliance exists to stop abuse for everyone by serving the survivors of child abuse, sexual assault and exploitation, and domestic violence. We are dedicated to ending violence through prevention, advocacy, and comprehensive services for individuals, families, and communities that have been affected by abuse.

In the past two years (23-24), our community outreach and education has provided over 12,000 adults and youth violence prevention training. The number of forensic exams provided at Eloise House numbered over 300. Our various housing and shelter programs provided over 700 survivors per day with safe housing and shelter. Over 120 survivors fleeing sex trafficking received services through our CARES program and over 27,000 callers/chats/texts, walk-in advocacy, crisis intervention and face-to-face emotional support has been provided through our 24/7 confidential SAFEline.

We are looking for one person to work on a full-time, exempt basis for an annual salary of $80,000 to $85,000 dependent upon experience. The work location will be based at all major SAFE Alliance Shelter Campuses in the Austin metroplex. This position will include some travel in the community or between campuses and will allow for some remote/hybrid work. This position currently requires you to participate in an On-Call schedule/rotation and has on-call compensation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field, Master's Degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years experience supervising/managing social service programs and staff, preference given to experience supervising program Director level employees.
  • Experience working in residential settings preferred.
  • Excellent communication both verbal and in writing and listening skills. Experience managing budgets, working on grants and being accountable for reporting requirements.
  • Expertise and experience and knowledge about domestic violence, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, as well as child abuse and exploitation.
  • Occasional exposure to adverse working conditions, including the performance of work in cramped and/or awkward positions and exposure to safety hazards, loud noise, traffic, and inclement weather conditions is possible.
