The Johnson Center for Child Health and Development is a non‑profit organization dedicated to advancing the understanding of childhood development through clinical care, research, community outreach, and education. The Johnson Center programs focus on children and vulnerable adults, including those who have disabilities.
Programs include:- Pediatric Diagnostic Clinic
- Counseling Services
- Nutrition and Feeding Services
- Consultative Medical Care
- Complex Case Management
- Food Recovery and Support of Food Pantries
Key Responsibilities Food for Thought Program Coordination (24‑28 hours per week)
Program Operations
- Serve as designated point person for program operations five days per week
- Organize weekly food pickup schedules and coordinate staff and volunteer participation
- Direct all incoming inventory Monday through Friday to appropriate storage or distribution sites
- Maintain organization and order of existing inventory
- Obtain and maintain current food handler's license (required)
Partnership Management
- Schedule food deliveries with supported community organizations
- Maintain current partnership agreements and documentation
- Serve as primary contact for program partners
- Build and strengthen relationships with community organizations
- Create social media content for the Food for Thought program, including updates on pantry partners, program recipients, distribution highlights, and volunteer activities
- Capture photos and stories that showcase program impact while maintaining recipient privacy and dignity
Data & Reporting
- Gather and compile program metrics from partner organizations
- Track food distribution volumes and impact
- Maintain accurate program records for reporting purposes
- Document program activities and outcomes
- Recruit, coordinate, and supervise Food for Thought volunteers and interns
- Provide training, guidance, and support to volunteers
- Create schedules and manage volunteer communications
On‑Site Pantry Management
- Ensure on‑site pantry is consistently stocked and organized
- Promote pantry availability to relevant groups and stakeholders
- Monitor usage and adjust inventory as needed
Special Projects
- Assist with special events and program initiatives as needed
- Support program development and expansion efforts
Facility Operations
- Open and close office daily (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Thursday)
- Execute security protocols, lighting, and equipment setup
- Designate coverage for planned or unexpected absences
Maintenance & Facility Management
- Conduct regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs
- Coordinate and track repairs and maintenance requests
- Liaise with cleaning services to ensure facility standards
- Communicate with building co‑owners regarding shared maintenance issues
Supply & Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels for office supplies (paper, stationery, cleaning supplies) and kitchen supplies
- Order and maintain adequate stock of necessary supplies
- Organize and maintain supply storage areas
Administrative Support
- Collect, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages to appropriate staff members
- Update phone systems and voicemail greetings for holidays and special announcements
- Coordinate with IT management for new employee onboarding, including creation of logins and accounts
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid food handler's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Clean driver's license and ability to be insured to operate the organization's van
