Job Title
Generation SERVE Project Coordinator VISTA Tele‑service
OrganizationAmeri Corps
OverviewGeneration SERVE’s mission is to spark a love for volunteering that inspires youth to grow into community‑minded leaders. Generation SERVE designs programs to ensure that youth and families from a full range of socioeconomic backgrounds, including those in low‑income communities, can participate in meaningful and impactful volunteer experiences. Generation SERVE partners with schools in Title I districts, affordable housing communities, and more than 100 local nonprofit organizations to remove barriers such as cost, transportation, and lack of awareness that often prevent families from accessing leadership development, enrichment, and civic engagement opportunities.
Service projects in the basic needs and health service areas address urgent community challenges across Central Texas for individuals and families experiencing poverty, homelessness, and food insecurity. According to the Central Texas Food Bank, 1 in 7 Central Texans, including 1 in 5 children, struggles with hunger. Generation SERVE’s Basic Needs service area responds directly to these challenges by coordinating hands‑on, family‑centered volunteer projects that provide meals, distribute fresh produce, and support local shelters and food pantries.
