Medical/Surgical - Med Surg RN - Travel Nurse
We’re looking for Medical Surgical RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Austin, TX. The right RN should have 1‑2 years recent acute care experience. Read below for more requirements.
Responsibilities- Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
- Prepare equipment and assist the physician during examination and treatment of patients.
- Educate patients on surgical procedures.
- Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by the physician.
- BLS certification
- NIH certification
- 1 year (or more) acute care experience
Physical requirements:
ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean, stoop without difficulty, lift up to 20 pounds comfortably, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
We work in a fast‑paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.
