Job Summary

The Nurse Educator enhances professional practice and the provision of quality patient care by providing evidence‑based educational programs and activities that promote professional competency for nursing, inter‑professional, and non‑licensed staff at the assigned facility.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development, coordination, management, facilitation, conduct, and evaluation of onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
  • Provide orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust programs based on evaluation results.
  • Design and identify educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences, including licensed and non‑licensed healthcare personnel, in alignment with HCA and division clinical education request and development processes.
  • Develop activities to achieve specific outcomes related to identified deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill and practice.
  • Promote and integrate evidence‑based practice (EBP) to continuously improve practice and conduct research, EBP, and quality improvement (QI) in patient care settings.
  • Identify and develop strategies to facilitate a continuous process of lifelong learning and skill mastery.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required).
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (preferred).
  • Two or more years of experience in clinical education, central clinical services, academia or leadership (preferred).
  • Two or more years of experience in acute care hospital (preferred).
  • Currently licensed as an RN in the state of practice or an active compact state license (required).
  • Nationally recognized specialty certification (preferred).
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) required.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
