Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
Join the team at Texas Oncology to support the North Austin and Round Rock locations. This full‑time position is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. The APP will be classified at Level 1, 2, or Sr based on experience.

What does the Advanced Practice Provider do?Provide direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care in collaboration with physicians. The APP impacts quality of patient care and outcomes throughout the continuum, supports the US Oncology Compliance Program, and adheres to the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities- Direct care and management in the outpatient/inpatient/surgical setting, including documentation of visits, patient and family education, order and review of diagnostic studies, prescription of medications, management of symptoms, counseling and support, and collaboration with other health care providers.
- Collaborate with physicians and team in interdependent practice.
- Proficient use of the Electronic Health Record with complete documentation per Texas Oncology policy and guidelines.
- Build strong collaborative relationships across the organization and the local medical community.
- Perform diagnostic/therapeutic procedures as appropriate.
- Participate in tumor board, institutional trainings, and meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Educational development with programmatic training, treatment review, survivorship, genetic consultations, high‑risk clinics, and advanced care planning.

Ideal candidate will have one of the following backgrounds and experience:
Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Clinical Nurse Specialist. Levels and licensure requirements are as follows:
- RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing. Current Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist licensure. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
- Physician Assistant:
Current NCCPA certification and current state license as a Physician Assistant. Current BLS/CPR certification required.
Experience levels:
Level 1 (0–3 years), Level 2 (3–6 years), Level Sr (6+ years).
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
