Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Day Shift

Responsibilities

This full‑time opportunity on our Medical unit offers 36 hours per week, full benefits, and a convenient night shift schedule. There is opportunity for overtime and to cover various shifts if interested.

Texas Neuro Rehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on 67 wooded acres. Originally a cattle ranch, the land was purchased in 1943 as part of The Brown Schools and has operated as a medical rehabilitation and behavioral healthcare facility for over 80 years. Today, Texas Neuro Rehab Center provides complex medical and brain and spinal cord injury rehab for ages 13 years and older and neuropsychiatric treatment for youth.

The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges. Texas Neuro Rehab Center is internationally known for improving the quality of life for many children; adolescents and adults, and it will continue to provide innovative approaches to neurobehavioral healthcare.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Requirements:

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, & interventions with patients. Knowledge of milieu management. Ability to direct subordinates in the performance of their duties. Ability to accurately administer medication and monitor side-effects. Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families. Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation.

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor degree in nursing.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current Driver's License or State issued  State of Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. Current CPR certification.

EXPERIENCE: One year of inpatient medical or LTAC preferred. New Graduates are welcome to apply.
