Overview
Our affiliate, Unified Women’s Healthcare of Texas, is looking for a Certified Nurse Midwife to join their prestigious Women’s Health Care Center in the Austin, TX metro area. Join a compassionate group who provide a team approach to patient care. Every member of our staff is focused on making the patient experience in our office individualized and meaningful.
Certified nurse midwife (CNM) is responsible for working closely with both gynecologic and obstetric patients, assisting in births, and providing health care to women post‑pregnancy. The CNM will assist with prenatal care, labor, delivery, and postpartum care, and may also provide reproductive care, treatment, and education to female patients.
Position Highlights- The practice has a team of 5 certified nurse midwives and 1 OB/GYN physician
- 2‑3 days of clinic per week with an average daily patient census of 16‑18
- 1 in 4 call schedule during weekdays. Post‑call day is always off. Call can be done from home as long as the midwife lives within a reasonable distance of the hospital.
- 1 weekend of call per month that provides an overall great work/life balance
- Midwives usually complete 10‑15 deliveries per month.
- Ability to build up own patient clinic practice within the group.
- Midwife will also work with some gynecology patients
- First of its kind midwifery practice in the Austin metro area. Collaborative and innovative practice model.

- AMCB Certified Nurse‑Midwife
- Graduate of a nurse‑midwifery education program accredited by ACNM Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME)
- Master's degree in Nursing (MS/MSN)
- Active and unrestricted state registered nurse (RN) license
- CPR and NALS Certification
- Current Unrestricted DEA License or ability to obtain
- 2 years of full‑time experience as a CNM is preferred
- Labor & Delivery experience preferred
