The Director of Nursing (DON) is an integral member of the management team of our community, contributing health‑care leadership and expertise to promote an environment of optimal living for residents. The DON will plan, organize, and direct the overall operation of clinical services in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and guidelines to foster the highest degree of quality care. He/she will comply with all local, state, and federal regulations and focus on employee and resident safety.

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a full nursing team through recruiting, interviewing, coaching, and development.
• Perform comprehensive assessments, coordinate individualized care plans, and provide empathetic, personalized care to residents.
• Liaise seamlessly with internal staff, third‑party vendors, and medical professionals.
• Lead staff meetings, manage service agreements, update physician order sheets, and assure compliance with healthcare protocols.
• Ensure proper medication management, conduct timely audits, handle incident reporting, and perform investigations.
• Assist the community during emergencies.

• Five years’ previous management experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable of standards of care and practices applicable to the delivery of geriatric services, complex medical conditions, multiple diagnoses, preventive measures, rehabilitation, and promoting independence.
• Experience in geriatric nursing or gerontology, including education in the aging process, memory decline and related behavior management highly preferred.
• Expertise in the most up‑to‑date safety and infection control practices.
• Experience building and leading effective nursing teams, including hiring, training, and development.

• High judgment and diplomacy, seeking diverse perspectives and critical input, managing an appropriate sense of urgency to motivate the team to perform at a higher level.
• Effective and balanced conflict‑resolution experience.
• Servant leadership in alignment with Pegasus Senior Living’s culture: mission‑oriented, purpose‑driven, humble, compassionate, authentic, tenacious, and dedicated to learning and self‑improvement.
• Demonstrated success in selecting, developing, and retaining teams of quality care staff; hiring caring, talented, and motivated people.

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Registered Nurse (RN) with a current license in good standing; LVN or LPN acceptable.
• Five to seven years’ experience in a senior care environment preferred.
