Schedule

1 shift (ongoing Saturdays 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or available nights: Sunday, Monday, Thursday 7:00 PM–7:00 AM).

Feeding tube, trach, ventilator.

Qualifications
  • Active, unencumbered license (LPN/LVN) in the state where the clinician will practice
  • Compact licenses transferred to state of residence within 90 days
  • Current CPR certification with hands‑on component (Aveanna can assist after hire)
  • TB skin test current within last 12 months
  • Six months prior hands‑on nursing experience preferred but not required
  • Reliable transportation
Position Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) is responsible for providing and documenting skilled nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse, following the care plan and physician orders for each patient while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Essential Job Functions
  • Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders.
  • Continuously observe and assess patient condition, reporting changes to supervisor or physician as needed.
  • Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and coordination of care promptly.
  • Participate in, implement, and update the nursing care plan.
  • Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Recognize changes in patient needs and responses, implementing care to prevent or reduce risk.
  • Accept professional responsibility by complying with Aveanna policies and all relevant regulations.
  • Use infection control measures to protect staff and patients per OSHA standards.
  • Educate patient and family on disease process, self‑care, and prevention strategies.
  • Maintain nursing competencies through educational programs, units, and skill evaluations.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
  • Current, unrestricted state license as a licensed nurse in the state of practice.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care policies.
Additional State Specific Requirements
  • South Carolina – one year of pediatric experience.
  • California – one year of experience under current nursing license.
  • Louisiana – one year of experience as a licensed nurse.
  • Continuing education as required by state.
Preferences
  • Six months of recent experience as a licensed nurse in a clinical setting.
  • Home health experience.

  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
