Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) NIGHTS

• Respond to incoming calls to the hospital to coordinate referrals and admissions.
• Provide assessment of patients' psychiatric and medical status.
• Ensure all inquiries, referrals, and admissions are documented accurately in the computer system and on proper forms.
• Ensure referral patient medical record information is completed and nursing and clinical staff are apprised of the patient's condition/history.
• Copy and distribute referral material and prepare unit charts as required.
• Assess, direct, and intervene in crisis situations.
• Provide leadership and direction to mental health technicians.
• Contribute to treatment plan as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
• Administer medication and medical treatment as prescribed by a physician.

• Education: Required:
  Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing. Preferred: BSN.
• Licensure / Certification: Current Texas State Registered Nurse License, Current CPR or BLS certification, Aggressive Behavior Management training within 90 days of hire date.
• Experience: One year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting (preferred).
