Overview

This role will work three 8-hour days per week supporting a clinic with the hours of Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm with no weekends, call, or major holidays. This position can be a level 1, 2, or Sr based on candidate experience. Texas Oncology is a Part‑time Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) position to join our team at the South Austin location at 4101 James Casey St #100 Austin, Texas 78745.

What

does the Part‑time Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) do?

Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental and age‑specific differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to provide assessment and therapeutic management of patient/family needs. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
  • Administer all medications/blood products using correct medication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time, and technique.
  • Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable.
  • Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems, and symptom management.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Qualifications Level 1
  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • 0–3 years nursing experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Level 2 (in addition to Level 1 requirements)
  • 3–5 years nursing experience.
Level Sr (in addition to Level 1 and 2 requirements)
  • Five years nursing experience.
