Home Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) – Part-Time
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) to provide skilled home infusion therapy to patients in the Austin, Texas area
. The nurse will travel to patients' homes and provide safe, high-quality infusion care in accordance with physician orders, pharmacy protocols, and agency policies.
- Provide home infusion therapy including IV medications, biologics, IVIG, antibiotics, hydration, and other prescribed specialty therapies.
- Perform patient assessments before, during, and after infusion.
- Initiate and manage peripheral IV access and care for PICC lines, ports, and other vascular access devices within scope and competency.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately.
- Verify medication, dose, route, frequency, supplies, and physician/pharmacy orders before treatment.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding medications, infusion procedures, vascular access care, and signs or symptoms requiring medical attention.
- Complete accurate, timely electronic clinical documentation after each visit.
- Communicate changes in patient condition to the pharmacy, physician, case manager, and clinical team as appropriate.
- Maintain infection-control and medication-safety standards in the home environment.
- Track supplies used and report supply or medication concerns promptly.
- Travel throughout the assigned service area for scheduled patient visits.
- Current, unrestricted Texas RN license
. - Current BLS/CPR certification
. - Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience;
home infusion, infusion center, ER, ICU, oncology, or vascular-access experience preferred
. - Competency with peripheral IV insertion and central-line care.
- Strong assessment, documentation, and patient-education skills.
- Ability to work independently in patients' homes.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and ability to travel within the assigned territory.
- Smartphone and reliable internet access for scheduling and electronic documentation.
- Must meet applicable background, health-screening, and employment-compliance requirements.
- Part-time / PRN
- Flexible scheduling based on patient needs and nurse availability.
- $40–$50 per hour
, depending on experience and assignment. - Local travel required.
