American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry unit requiring active TX or compact RN license, NIH Stroke Certification, and no call requirements.

• Neuro medical/surgical telemetry unit (5C) within a hospital setting
• 30-bed unit staffed with CNCs, RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and a unit coordinator
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Performs procedures including Stroke NIH assessments, EEGs, gastric decompression, and wound care
• Uses Welch Allyn vital sign monitors, COWs, Hoyer lifts, PCA pumps, Care View Virtual Sitter, Telepsych, and Teleneuro equipment
• Documentation via Meditech EMR
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 4 weekend shifts required per schedule
• No call requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med Surg/Telemetry specialty required
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

• Provide direct patient care on a neuro med/surg telemetry unit including stroke assessment and wound care management
• Team-oriented and self-motivated personality fit preferred
• Navy scrub color required; hoop nose piercings not permitted
• Orientation packet provided on start date
• Unit has received multiple ICARE award recognitions and patient feedback-based staff recognition
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
