American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position offering a night shift schedule and requiring NIH Stroke Certification.

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Neuro medical/surgical patient population
• 30-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:5
• Uses Welch Allyn vital sign monitors, COWs, Hoyer lifts, PCA pumps, Care View Virtual Sitter, Telepsych, and Teleneuro equipment
• Meditech EMR used
• 12-hour night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 4 weekend shifts per schedule
• No on-call requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

• Provide care for neuro medical/surgical patients including stroke/NIH monitoring, EEGs, gastric decompression, and wound care
• Team-oriented and self-motivated candidates preferred
• Navy-colored scrubs required
• Hoop nose piercings not permitted
• Unit policy packet provided on start date
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, local candidates will not be considered
