American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Newborn Nursery role requiring postpartum experience and the ability to manage patients independently at a 1:5-6 ratio.
Requirements- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, including Level 4 NICU experience
- Postpartum experience required
- Ability to manage patient load independently at a 1:5-6 ratio
- Antepartum patient experience preferred
- Familiarity with CPN and Meditech systems preferred
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advanced 9th Edition certification required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Women's Services/Postpartum unit with 40 beds and 47 total staff members
- Newborn Nursery position with NICU-capable requirements and on-call responsibilities
- Patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6
- Uses bladder scanner, doppler, breast pump, glucometer, and vital sign machine
- EMR systems include CPN and Meditech
- Shift runs 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM over a 13-week assignment
- Requires 3 weekends per schedule period
- Unit primarily cares for postpartum mothers with occasional antepartum patients
- Perform maternal assessments and manage admission and discharge processes
- Coordinate patient education regarding postpartum care and follow-up
- Provide postpartum pain management
- Navy blue scrub color required
- Strong collaboration skills and a team-player mindset are valued
- Calm, flexible, and responsive demeanor needed in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive communication with interdisciplinary team expected
Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
