American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Newborn Nursery role requiring postpartum experience and the ability to manage patients independently at a 1:5-6 ratio.

• Women's Services/Postpartum unit with 40 beds and 47 total staff members
• Newborn Nursery position with NICU-capable requirements and on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6
• Uses bladder scanner, doppler, breast pump, glucometer, and vital sign machine
• EMR systems include CPN and Meditech
• Shift runs 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM over a 13-week assignment
• Requires 3 weekends per schedule period
• Unit primarily cares for postpartum mothers with occasional antepartum patients

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, including Level 4 NICU experience
• Postpartum experience required
• Ability to manage patient load independently at a 1:5-6 ratio
• Antepartum patient experience preferred
• Familiarity with CPN and Meditech systems preferred
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advanced 9th Edition certification required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Perform maternal assessments and manage admission and discharge processes
• Coordinate patient education regarding postpartum care and follow-up
• Provide postpartum pain management
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Strong collaboration skills and a team-player mindset are valued
• Calm, flexible, and responsive demeanor needed in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive communication with interdisciplinary team expected
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
