VCA Seaside Animal Hospital in Austin, Texas, offers a Veterinary Externship Program for students enrolled in AVMA-accredited veterinary schools. This program emphasizes hands-on experience by shadowing veterinarians and assisting in surgeries. Participants gain clinical skills and may research topics or engage in community events. Externs are hosted year-round, typically for 2 weeks, with a stipend of $600/week upon successful completion.
Limited extern housing is available at pet resort locations.
