BUILDING ENGINEER – AUSTIN, TEXAS

Job function: Management and Manufacturing

Responsibilities
  • Supervise vendors and contractors under direction of Senior Asset Manager, Property Manager(s), and Property Coordinator.
  • Manage maintenance programs and schedule third‑party inspections for building infrastructure (fire life safety, HVAC, electrical, elevators, etc.).
  • Schedule and complete work orders for general maintenance and repairs.
  • Prepare purchase orders for projects as needed.
  • Coordinate and monitor vendor or contractor progress.
  • Conduct daily property inspections and report any needed repairs to Senior Asset Manager, Property Manager(s), and Property Coordinator.
  • Inspect building equipment and provide preventative maintenance services.
  • Maintain inventory levels of maintenance equipment supplies.
  • Complete all required paperwork daily or as required by Property Manager(s).
  • Respond to after‑hours and weekend maintenance emergencies as needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum three years of general maintenance experience.
  • Wastewater operator license highly preferred.
  • HVAC certification preferred.
  • Ability to negotiate service contracts and minor construction contracts.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good time‑management skills.
  • Effective internal and external communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Yardi work‑order experience a plus.
