Major / Essential Duties of Job- Assist in the design, conduct, analysis, and communication of research and outreach regarding management of feral hogs.
- Coordinate among researchers and projects.
- Engage with agency, industry, academic partners.
- Assist with mentoring of graduate students.
- Other duties as required.
PhD in Wildlife Ecology, Wildlife Management, or related field.
Preferred EducationPhD in Wildlife Ecology, Wildlife Management, or related field.
Required Experience- Experience with research on feral hogs, their management and ecology.
- Experience conducting, analyzing, and communicating results of research.
- Experience with spatial analysis of animal damage and movement.
- Familiarity with individuals and organizations in feral hog management.
Hunter Education and NRA firearm safety training.
Preferred Licenses / CertificationsValid driver license.
Required Special Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of program R, ArcGIS spatial analysis, common statistical approaches to wildlife data.
- Ability to operate under adverse field conditions.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
- Experience with firearms and euthanasia of feral hogs.
- Ability to lead field projects under adverse conditions.
