PhD must have been received within the past 3 years. This is a temporary training position that can be renewed annually, for a maximum of five years, based upon performance review, progress towards research goals, and continuation of funding.## Purpose Carry out research in RNA biology and novel reverse transcriptase, with RNA-seq, diagnostic, and genome engineering applications## Responsibilities
* Conduct independent research in RNA biology, RNA analysis, and RNA diagnostic and medical applications using a wide variety of techniques, such tissue culture, recombinant DNA, biochemical assays, nucleic acid purification and analysis, gel electrophoresis, growth of bacteria, isolation of RNA and DNA, PCR, RT-qPCR, reporter assays, protein expression and purification, in vitro mutagenesis, and RNA sequencing and data analysis.
* Provide instruction, assistance and mentoring to graduate students.
* Write manuscripts and assist in the preparation of reports, abstracts, manuscripts and proposals. make presentations at lab meetings, attend lab meetings and other meetings.##

Required Qualifications

PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry or closely related field. PhD must have been received within the past 3 years.##

Preferred Qualifications Strong record of research productivity in the above fields.## ## Salary Range $58,744 + depending on qualifications## Working Conditions
