The Role

Arriba Abajo is a cantina‑themed bar and restaurant inside the Thompson and Tommie Austin hotels, offering 17,000 sq ft of indoor/outdoor dining and lounge space, multiple venues for private events, and a pool deck servicing hotel guests and residents.

Supervisors possess strong leadership, communication, and relationship skills. They support senior leadership by developing and assuming basic management responsibilities. This role leads other associates by coaching, giving direction, and may include training, scheduling, payroll, and interviewing. Restaurant Supervisors must demonstrate fundamental food and beverage knowledge and serve as the liaison between culinary and restaurant operations. This position plays a significant role in overall outlet performance, which includes product quality and service standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the Food & Beverage team during shifts, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional guest service.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and provide hands‑on assistance as needed.
  • Oversee the restaurant and bar, ensuring compliance with brand standards.
  • Assist in training and developing team members.
  • Ensure adherence to hotel security, fire regulations, and health & safety laws.
  • Maintain compliance with state food handling and liquor laws.
  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of outlets.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of menus, specials, and offerings.
  • Assist in planning and executing special events and private functions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

This mixed‑use project will also feature a residential tower – Sienna – and 10,000 sq ft of retail space and a 7,000 sq ft state‑of‑the‑art fitness center and simulator room, the “T” Box.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal communication abilities to effectively interact with guests and team members.
  • Must have the stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight as needed.
  • Serve alcohol responsibly and promptly report any concerns to management.
  • Strong understanding of food, wine, spirits, and beer.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Must have a flexible schedule – willing and able to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required.
