Central Market Austin North Lamar Meat Cutter - Full-Time
Central Market is a specialty grocery chain in Austin, TX that offers a wide range of fresh ingredients, cheeses, wines, and prepared foods. We are looking for a Production Specialist to support our meat and produce department.

ResponsibilitiesSummarize the role and then detailed duties:
- Unloading product from truck and transporting to storage area
- Ensuring quality control of all product before sending to sales floor
- Maintaining sanitation in the department
- Maintaining organization of back storage, freezer, walk‑in, and production area
- Reading and executing the daily production list
- Calculating figures and amounts such as weights, discounts, percentages, and volumes
- Providing customer service as required, such as answering questions and taking orders on the phone
- Assisting in monitoring the quality of goods and monitoring shrink
- Ordering and receiving products and supplies
- Maintaining transfer records
- Preparing, wrapping, pricing, selling, and stocking products continuously
- Demonstrating customer samples for self‑serve
- Using suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales
- Demonstrates expertise and passion for food
- Experience with commercial production preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Ability to coach other partners
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Lift and carry moderate to heavy loads (minimum 50 lbs.); bend, reach, push, and pull
- Flexible work schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to inform customers about ingredients
- Values diversity
- Minimum 1 year experience in food preparation and 2–5 years of related experience
