CUSTOMER ACCT MANAGER III
Position Summary:
Responsible for maintaining/increasing sales volume and margin with existing and new accounts within the OEM channels, executing assigned sales goals and plans, securing distribution, maintaining effective agreements, and supporting the corporation's Win Strategy.
Proactively works with divisional management and support departments to ensure customer service needs are met or exceeded; represents the company at trade shows and other professional activities; reports to the Office Manager or Plant Manager.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain strong client relationships with OEM customers, prioritizing opportunities on an account‑by‑account basis to achieve optimal sales and margin results.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical knowledge of group/divisional products, applications, features, advantages, and benefits.
- Obtain specifications and approvals at major accounts and/or distributors assigned to develop increased sales opportunities and margins.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and their marketplace activity, providing regular reports and keeping management aware of changes that would affect Parker product distribution.
- Assist in planning strategy to provide the products and services required for assigned accounts; actively support cross‑divisional and group products with proper referral.
- Provide product training at distributor and customer levels, motivate and guide distributors, and assist in converting competitive accounts to Parker.

- High School Degree (or equivalent) required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience (in Account Management/Sales Industry, not retail)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Applicable product and system certification/knowledge preferred
- Excellent telephone skills with the ability to work with others
- Ability to read and interpret written forms of communication (customer Pos, change orders, PO special instructions, work instructions, etc.)
- Order entry and order tracking experience
- Proficiency using the Austin PSO system
- E‑mail and internet (customer portal) experience
- Knowledge of Parker parts and part numbers is a plus, but not required
- Must be a self‑starter, able to work independently, and motivated to follow through to closure
- Ability to multi‑task many projects at once, prioritize, and elevate issues when appropriate
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Ability to get up frequently to retrieve documents, including from the shop
