* Assist in management of research on funded projects in the fields of pavement and materials engineering and testing, pavement management, and data integration.
* Perform experimental testing in a laboratory as needed.
* Actively search for new research opportunities and leads the development of proposals and/or leads the development of assigned research proposals; and/or participates on a proposal development team with one or more assigned writing tasks.
* Conduct literature reviews, conducts original research and/or participates on a research team under the general direction of a research supervisor; works directly with other researchers and students to support pavement materials engineering and testing, pavement management, and other relevant tasks.
* Work with large transportation-related databases; integrates data from local and web-based sources and develops a centralized, relational database to meet project requirements.
