ERM is hiring a Field Biologist to conduct post‑construction mortality monitoring (PCMM) for avian species at a wind farm in Crockett County, TX. This is a part‑time (18 hours/week), limited‑term role with an expected duration of 1 year and the possibility of renewal. Assignments will have an average duration of 2 days per week.

• Conduct post‑construction mortality monitoring, including monitoring for bird mortality, search efficiency trials, and carcass persistence trials.
• Electronic data collection.
• Handheld and sub‑meter accurate GPS data collection.
• Daily reporting and survey report compilation.
• Other duties as assigned or required.
• Compliance with ERM’s rigorous safety program.

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of avian experience, ideally with PCMM experience.
• General bird identification skills required.
• Ability to work safely outdoors in variable weather conditions and challenging terrain.
• Working knowledge of sub‑meter accuracy GPS technologies and map interpretation skills (e.g., NWI, USGS, aerial photography).
• Strong attention to detail in documentation of work.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Desire to work in the field for an extended period and maintain a positive attitude.
• Willingness and ability to travel with overnight stays possible.
• Demonstrated independent and effective problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Fluency in English and Spanish highly preferred.
