Network/Firewall Security Engineer

Location:

Austin, Texas (Remote)

Role Overview We are seeking a Network/Firewall Security Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing and enhancing network security configurations, responding to security incidents, and maintaining the overall health of the network infrastructure. This role requires flexibility to work non-standard hours, including nights and weekends, as needed to support operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities Analyze firewall rules and network configurations to identify and address gaps.

Block identified Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) at the network perimeter.

Review and refine firewall rulesets to improve the overall security posture.

Implement controls to limit ingress and egress traffic to the environment.

Perform patching and updates for network infrastructure to address vulnerabilities.

Deploy and secure VPN and ZTNA solutions.

Create new network segments to isolate critical systems and support recovery efforts.

Required Qualifications Technical

Skills:

Experience with firewalls such as Palo Alto and Cisco is required.
