Installation Superintendent

Digital Building Components, a part of the DPR family of companies, is looking for a highly motivated, experienced, hardworking, and organized Installation Superintendent to lead an installation crew of metal panel facades. The position is ideal for a candidate who wishes to be part of a movement toward prefabrication in the construction industry. The role requires frequent travel across the nation to install Digital Building Components (DBC) panels and involves safety, planning, production, cost, scheduling, logistics, communication, and organization.

Successful candidates will possess strong management skills, be able to lead a team, gain commitments, and hold team members accountable to mutual success.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Manage DBC's subcontractors in the field (metal panel, caulking, cranes, deliveries, etc).
  • Lead crew to achieve productivity and stay on schedule.
  • Maintain travel crew conduct while representing DBC.
  • Resolve field problems and know when to elevate issues to engineering/management.
  • Schedule and manage the job‑site inspection process and interact with inspectors.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Prepare daily reports.
  • Manage site logistics, craning, and rigging.
  • Identify and document field issues using measurements, digital photos, and email.
  • Respond to issues/questions raised in meetings and emails in a timely manner or escalates issues when the response isn’t clear.
  • Understand, track, and interpret job schedules and track work progress on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Recognize and eliminate job‑site hazards and unsafe work practices.
  • Conduct job‑site safety meetings with DBC crews.
  • Help develop an injury‑free environment on all job sites for DBC crews.
  • Attend and participate in overall job‑site safety meetings.
  • Review, comment, and mark‑up drawings and spool sheets.
  • Manage crew traveling plans.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • General understanding of welding.
  • General understanding of waterproofing systems and exterior skin systems.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, sections, details, and navigate a model.
  • Ability to develop, complete, and communicate pre‑task plans, job hazard analysis, crane packages, etc.
  • Communicate professionally with GC team and other subs/consultants.
  • Excellent listening skills and strong communication skills, and ability to use technology for communication (tablet, computer, phone, etc).
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Dependable with strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines and respond to changes in priorities.
Education And Experience
  • 15+ years of experience with metal stud framing and drywall
    • Layout and control
    • Framing & hanging
    • Fire ratings & STC ratings
    • Fire caulking & fire safing
  • Experience supervising a crew of 15 or more.
  • Experience with panelized construction or concrete formwork systems (layout, flying, setting, anchoring, bracing).
  • Experience with leading‑edge work.
  • OSHA 10 & 30 certification.
  • Certified Rigging (must achieve in first 2 months).
  • First Aid & CPR trained (must achieve in first 2 months).
  • Experience with multi‑story load‑bearing framing systems (wood or gauge steel) – plus.
  • Experience using Blue Beam, Trimble, and Total Station – plus.
  • Bi‑lateral in Spanish – plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be ready and able to travel throughout the US to installation sites.
