brief position summaryperforms complex (journey-level) heating, ventilation and air conditioning (hvac) equipment work. Work involves installing, repairing, maintaining, overhauling and servicing base equipment and component parts in units such as hvac and power distribution systems. Performs general maintenance work in all areas of the building trades, such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, etc. May provide guidance to others. Reports to the r-vi camp mabry hvac supervisor and works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

tues– friday, 10 hours a day, 40 hours a week
essential job functions and responsibility- overhauls and services hvac equipment.
- overhauls pumps, air compressors and circulating pumps associated with hvac equipment and systems.
- repairs and replaces worn or broken parts on condensers, compressors and water and vacuum pumps.
- repairs or adjusts valves, piping connections, fittings and couplings.
- tests refrigeration equipment for refrigerant leaks.
- removes and installs motors, thermostats and humidistats.
