** Summary
* * The Traffic Operations Technician III position requires a high level of technical expertise and problem-solving skills. This Technician will oversee complex traffic control projects, play a lead role in the installation and maintenance of all traffic control devices such as signals, school flashers, signage and flasher assemblies. Ensure adherence to safety regulations.

* Duties and Responsibilities:

*** Supervises and trains Traffic Operations Technicians I and II
* Oversees complex traffic related projects
* Leads the installation, maintenance and repair of complex traffic control devices
* Performs inspections and prepares reports on the condition of traffic control systems
* Coordinate with engineers and other departments on traffic control projects
* Ensures compliance with all safety regulations and procedures
* Prepares technical reports and maintains detailed documentation
* May operate department vehicles for transporting materials and equipment
* Performs other duties as assigned

* Minimum Qualifications:

*** High school diploma or GED certificate
* Three (3) years of experience in traffic control device maintenance or related field
* In-depth knowledge of the TXMUTCD guidelines
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
* Valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record
* Must pass a background check and drug screening
