SAFE Alliance seeks a DV Rapid Rehousing Advocate for the Community & Housing Services Program in the Supportive Housing & Rapid Rehousing department. This position will carry a caseload of at least 15 households, for up to 24+ months. The advocate will be responsible for completing outreach, intakes, referrals, and service plans while providing client‑driven, trauma‑informed service coordination services to households who live in scattered‑site housing throughout the community.

We are dedicated to ending violence through prevention, advocacy, and comprehensive services for individuals, families, and communities that have been affected by abuse. Position

Details

Full‑time, non‑exempt. Annual salary $49,000–$50,350, dependent on experience, plus an additional annual language differential of $3,600 for English/Spanish bilingual. Base location:
Grove Blvd. Campus in East Austin. Some travel in the community or between campuses; some remote/hybrid work allowed.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred; equivalent lived or work or volunteer experience considered.
  • Experience with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, child neglect, stalking, and/or trafficking preferred.
  • Knowledge of trauma‑informed care and advocacy best practices.
  • Experience in social services, case management, legal advocacy, or crisis response preferred.
  • Strong crisis intervention, de‑escalation, problem‑solving, and advocacy skills.
  • Professionalism, confidentiality, and strong ethical boundaries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management systems.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a team‑oriented approach.
  • Travel requirements for client services, outreach, and community engagement.
  • Possession of a valid Texas driver’s license (out‑of‑state license requires conversion within 90 days) and at least 3 years of driving experience or 1 year if over 27 years old; acceptable driving record covering last 3 years.
  • Completion of the 40‑Hour Office of Attorney General Sexual Assault Advocacy Training Program in person within 6 months of starting, and yearly continuing education.
  • Pass required criminal history background checks (including FBI fingerprint if applicable), pre‑employment drug screen and TB test if applicable.
  • Compliance with COVID‑19 policies; vaccines recommended and encouraged if possible.
