Communities In Schools of Central Texas invites enthusiastic, mission-driven professionals to lead CIS services at Pickle Elementary School in Austin, TX. The Campus-Based Program Manager acts as the site‑based leader, working closely with school administrators and staff to integrate CIS programming into the school environment, empower students, engage families, and build community partnerships.

Responsibilities
  • Program Administration
    • Conduct needs assessments and inform program design.
    • Maintain positive relationships with campus personnel, market the program, and establish referral processes.
    • Implement effective data management and program evaluation systems.
  • Campus Team Management
    • Hire, onboard, and train team members; set goals and expectations.
    • Provide professional development and ongoing supervision; conduct staff reviews and annual evaluations.
    • Communicate agency and school policies; promote agency culture and standards.
  • Student Services
    • Provide individual counseling, facilitate groups, and manage crisis situations.
    • Conduct parental outreach and develop parental engagement strategies.
    • Perform case management and collaborate with CIS team for service delivery.
  • Campus and Community Relationships
    • Represent CIS at school and community meetings, deliver presentations.
    • Organize and coordinate events, host open houses, and advocate for the program.
Qualifications
  • Elementary school-level experience.
  • English/Spanish language proficiency – highly preferred.
  • Experience with crisis intervention, assessments, referrals, and supportive counseling.
  • Experience managing individuals or teams.
  • Case management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, human services, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, productive relationships with CIS staff, school personnel, and community partners.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence when engaging diverse audiences.
  • Highly self‑motivated; able to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on strength‑based leadership.
  • Experience working with parents/guardians and families.
  • Experience collaborating with community agencies.
  • Current CPR certification preferred.
  • Reliable transportation.

Reporting Structure

This position is supervised by a Program Director for Campus‑Based Services. The Program Manager may supervise Ameri Corps members, interns, and/or volunteers.

Worksite

The role is full‑time at the Pickle Elementary School campus. It follows campus work hours with occasional evening hours and travel between the Austin administrative office and the campus site.
