Principal Firmware Engineer at HID – Join our PACS Innovation team focused on researching and prototyping new technologies for future security & access control products.

• Take end‑to‑end responsibility for the software you develop, including design, analysis, implementation, testing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing maintenance.
• Contribute to and integrate with programs developed by others.
• Prepare and present content on new technologies and learnings as part of internal community education efforts.
• Participate in intellectual property filing and strategy.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of industry experience.
• Mandatory command of C and C++.
• Expertise in at least one of the following languages:
  Python, C#, Typescript, Java, Kotlin, Swift, Go, CUDA.
• Documented knowledge of Secure‑Element and/or Secure‑Credential development, including symmetric and asymmetric/PQC cryptography and ISO‑14443/ISO‑7816.
• Familiarity with ISO and industry standards such as Aliro, Matter, LwM2M, Mobile driving license, Java Card, Global platform, EUDI, CRA, etc.
• Low‑level ML edge development knowledge (e.g., architecting, training, optimizing models for object detection, facial recognition, sensing, trajectory prediction, alignment & classification).
• Experience with intellectual property processes; listed as inventor on patents preferred.
• Expertise in one or more areas:
  Embedded Engineering (microcontrollers/Linux), Mobile App development, Distributed systems development.
