Company Description

Brane Audio, LLC is a sound technology company based in Austin, Texas. Our flagship product, the Brane X wireless smart speaker, has earned widespread acclaim and was named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2024 for achieving what’s considered the most significant advancement in audio driver technology in a century.

Our breakthrough Repel-Attract Driver (RAD) technology delivers 10 times the low‑end performance without compromising size or power efficiency. Designed to be fully scalable, RAD has the potential to revolutionize the entire audio industry, from earbuds to concert‑sized speakers, while maintaining a dramatic advantage in size, output, and energy use. Multiple groundbreaking products are in development.

Role Description

This contracted Android Software Developer will play a role supporting both the Android mobile app and the software that runs on Brane Audio’s next‑generation speaker that is currently in the works.

You will work closely with our product, hardware, and UX teams to ensure our mobile app provides a reliable, intuitive, and high‑performance user experience. This role is ideal for a developer who is excited to work in a fast‑moving startup environment, comfortable working across mobile and hardware systems, and eager to contribute to innovative consumer audio products.

Location and hours

Austin, TX (Onsite)

Work will begin primarily inside the existing Brane Audio Android app. Onboarding and training will initially take place within the Brane X ecosystem, our flagship product.

Hardware interaction will increase in phases as development progresses into firmware‑connected features and new speaker functionality.

On‑site work is required in Austin, TX, especially during early collaboration and any hardware‑integrated development sprints. Long‑term, the role may include hybrid flexibility, depending on project needs.

The contract will support both early development and ongoing iteration as we move toward launch of our next product.
