We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the ongoing evolution of our cutting‑edge Margin product—critical to the Apex Ascend platform. This role focuses on designing and delivering key features for real‑time buying‑power calculations and building highly scalable applications and services using modern cloud‑native solutions.

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain high‑performance backend systems using Java to enhance scalability of the Margin product.
• Build and manage containerized microservices with Kubernetes and Docker, ensuring optimal scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Leverage Google Cloud Platform technologies such as Pub/Sub to develop and optimize infrastructure.
• Create scalable, event‑driven systems using Kafka, Rabbit

• Design robust, secure, and efficient gRPC and REST APIs for internal and external system interactions.
• Maintain relational databases (Postgre

  DB) to ensure efficient data storage and transaction operations.
• Optimize system performance, availability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with globally distributed teams, translating technical topics for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and share best practices to enrich team expertise.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and well‑integrated.

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional backend software development experience, with a focus on distributed systems and microservices.
• Experience guiding projects, working cross‑functionally, and mentoring junior engineers.
• Preferred certifications in Java, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud).

• Deep understanding of financial systems, risk modeling, and regulatory compliance for secure, reliable solutions.
• Expertise in backend performance tuning and ensuring system scalability and reliability.
• Hands‑on Dev Ops experience, including CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Strong knowledge of securing APIs, backend systems, and cloud‑based infrastructures.

This hybrid role requires on‑site collaboration three days per week.
