Job Description
Seeking a strong Senior Software Engineer to help build the Oracle Cloud Observability Platform. The ideal candidate possesses robust distributed systems skills, understands networking and OS fundamentals. The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team builds and manages a suite of large‑scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi‑tenant environment. Our mission is to deliver a world‑class Integrated Observability and Management platform for our customers. This platform works seamlessly across OCI, other clouds, and on‑premises environments to provide a unified view. Our integrated platform combines Logging, Monitoring, Auditing, SIEM, Events, Inventory, and other services. We continuously innovate each of these services to make them feature‑rich and integrate them seamlessly to provide meaningful insights into resources and data.

- Design and drive end‑to‑end engineering efforts including development, test infrastructure, and operational excellence.
- Resolve complex technical issues and make design decisions to meet the critical requirements of a multi‑OS/multi‑platform, highly available, secure, multi‑tenant service in the cloud.
- Mentor and guide junior team members in technology.
- Work closely with technical leads, directors, engineering managers, architects, product, and program managers to deliver product features on time and with high quality.
- Proactively identify and resolve risks and issues that may impact the team’s delivery.
- Collaborate with external application teams on integration with the product and guide the integration process.
- Understand various Oracle Cloud technologies to evolve the cloud provisioning and enablement process continuously.
- BS/MS degree or equivalent, with 3+ years of overall experience and exposure to at least one cloud service provider (AWS/OCI/Azure/GCP).
- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, designing fault‑tolerant and highly available systems.
- Experience building and designing microservices and/or cloud‑native applications.
- Problem‑solving mindset with a can‑do attitude and ability to think on the go.
- Strong on at least one modern programming language (Java, Kotlin, Python, C#) and containers experience (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Detail‑oriented, task‑driven, excellent communication skills.
- Organized, goal‑focused, able to deliver in a fast‑paced environment with minimal direction; creative problem‑solving and ability to abstract and share details.
- Experience with architectural patterns for high availability, performance, scale‑out, disaster recovery, security architecture, and cloud‑based deployment and operations.
- Knowledge of telemetry metric systems design and maintenance.
- Experience running large high‑throughput distributed data‑plane systems.
- Experience implementing container monitoring tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Lab), and build tools (Gradle, Ant, Maven).
Certain US customer or client‑facing roles may require compliance with applicable requirements such as immunization and occupational health mandates.
Compensation & BenefitsUS:
