GEICO is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer who builds high-performance, low-latency platforms and applications. You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we redefine customer experiences.

Your role will be a key member of the engineering staff, working across the organization to provide a friction‑less experience to our customers while maintaining the highest standards of protection and availability. Our team thrives in a growth environment where priorities shift quickly. The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge, ranging from front‑end UIs through back‑end systems and all points in between.

• Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems, including front‑end and back‑end development.
• Engage in cross‑functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle.
• Lead in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate quality across the organization.
• Define, create, and support reusable application components/patterns from both business and technology perspectives.
• Utilize languages such as Java, C#, Python, or other object‑oriented languages; work with SQL, No
  
  SQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure services.
• Mentor other engineers.
• Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams.

• Advanced experience with Java, C#/.NET, HTML‑5, JavaScript/Type Script, Angular/React, XML, JSON, RESTful Web Services, and/or Flutter (a plus).
• Experience with an additional modern language and open‑source software (a plus).
• Advanced experience within the .NET framework, including SQL Server, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, and REST.
• Proven full‑stack development experience with microservices architecture and API‑first design (REST, Graph
  
  QL).
• Experience architecting and designing new and existing systems.
• Advanced understanding of monitoring concepts, tooling, security protocols, and products.
• Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Ability to excel in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to conduct architecture assessments and proposals.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience within .NET framework (C# OOP) or Java.
• 4+ years of experience with architecture and design.
• 4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service.
• 2+ years of experience in open‑source frameworks.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.
