Embedded Firmware Engineer (Zephyr/BMC)
Location: Austin, TX – 100% Onsite
Duration: 12+ months (Contract)
Top Must‑Haves- phyr OS and bare‑metal bring‑up
- MCTP/PLDM experience
- BMC or similar firmware knowledge (BMC experience a plus)
Seeking a strong firmware developer with deep embedded experience, solid problem‑solving skills, and familiarity with hardware. You will develop and integrate low‑level firmware for next‑generation interconnect technologies and work closely with cross‑functional teams throughout the full design cycle (pre‑silicon, post‑silicon, production).
Key Responsibilities- Develop firmware for technologies such as PCIe, CXL, MCTP, UBM, USB4
- Collaborate with BMC, power, architecture, design, and verification teams
- Build low‑level firmware in an RTOS environment (Zephyr)
- Participate in pre‑silicon validation and post‑silicon bring‑up
- Support full lifecycle of embedded firmware solutions
- Expertise in C; strong C++/Python
- Experience with PLDM, MCTP, SPDM
- Knowledge of I2C/I3C, PCIe, JTAG, SPI, eSPI, UART
- 5+ years in device driver or embedded firmware development
- Zephyr RTOS experience
- Strong debug skills across pre/post‑silicon and production
- Comfortable in Linux build environments
- BMC firmware experience (iDRAC, CMC, iLO, etc.)
- Security knowledge (Root of Trust, verified/measured boot)
- OpenBMC experience
- Git/Gerrit proficiency
- ARM architecture experience
- Ability to read digital schematics
BSEE, BSCS, BSCE or higher. 5+ years firmware development; 3+ years manageability firmware.
