THE ROLEThe Diagnostic Engineering team is responsible for function, system, and stress validation tool development targeting next‑generation CPU, APU and GPU products. The System Level Diagnostic Development Engineer will work with AMD diagnostic architects and technical leads to implement test scenarios based on the key product features and validation strategies.
THE PERSONWe are seeking a self‑motivated engineer with solid knowledge of SW development and SoC architecture to design and develop software which verifies SoC features of industry‑leading AMD products. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver with strong communication skills and forward thinking to improve development processes and drive innovation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Design and develop Diagnostic suites with C++ to verify multi‑IP/system level features, bring‑up and verification in the pre‑silicon environment and post‑silicon system.
- Collaborate with Diagnostic IP developers to leverage diagnostic content to build efficient cross‑IP coverage.
- Identify and drive to resolve IP, SoC, board and firmware issues when needed.
- Provide support to external customers and internal engineering teams using System Level Diagnostics for chip screening, validation, profiling, etc.
- Knowledge of CPU and GPU architecture.
- Proven experience on driver, validation tool or embedded SW development, and close interaction with HW designers and FW developers.
- Strong mix of large‑scale software development ability and hardware understanding.
- Hands‑on experience with SoC bring‑up.
- Proficient in C & Modern C++ programming.
- Proficient in software development for Linux environments.
- Familiar with source control systems like Git.
- Strong debugging and testing skills.
- Sc. or M.Sc. in EE or CS or equivalent
