As a member of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) we build the future of the cloud for enterprises. This role is part of the Virtual Cloud Network (VCN) team that designs and develops high‑speed packet processing architectures and distributed systems that deliver networking features such as TCP/UDP packet processing, access controls, metrics, and monitoring dashboards.
Responsibilities- Design and implement major core components of Oracle’s Virtual Cloud Network, focusing on high‑speed packet processing and distributed system scaling.
- Lead small engineering teams, providing technical leadership and mentorship to software developers.
- Specify, design, and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet evolving operational needs.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional platform feature teams to deliver networking features that meet customer requirements.
- Conduct independent judgment on large‑scale operational events and make high‑impact decisions during incidents.
- 4+ years of distributed cloud engineering experience in a software development environment.
- Proficient in C++ and Python programming, with experience in Linux networking constructs and shell scripting.
- Experience developing service‑oriented architectures and web services security solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to all audiences.
- Strong knowledge of Linux networking constructs and software‑based packet forwarding experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Deep understanding of object‑oriented design and SDK development within a cloud environment.
- Familiarity with distributed computing and cloud‑based platforms, and understanding of cross‑functional platform feature areas.
- Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.

US:
Hiring Range in USD from: $79,200 - $178,100 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
