You will design, craft, and deploy reliable embedded software for large quantity of consumer electronic products.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Develop embedded software for terrestrial devices within the Amazon Leo system.
- Participate in all phases of Software Development Lifecycle including: requirements gathering, design, code, test, and code/test coverage.
- Developing embedded software in Rust, C/C++, assembly or other languages.
- Have experience with real-time embedded software philosophies and practices.
- Have expertise with embedded Linux or other Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
- Review schematics, logic analyzer, and embedded software (bare‑metal) trouble‑shooting techniques.
A day in the life
As part of our software engineering team, you will design and implement embedded software used in the Amazon Leo products. You will work in a collaborative environment with teams inside and outside of Amazon. You will craft your software from requirements, designs, code, test, to product deployment. You need to be flexible and responsive to changing priority issues.
About the team
A developer in the Ground Gateway software team is responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and operating services that enable ground systems worldwide. We write code, debug, and create the world’s most innovative products. We work in collaboration with other teams for designing and delivering scalable, low latency, and high throughput solutions.
Basic Qualifications- 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
